Obituary of Tina Westra
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Tina (Trijntje) Westra (nee. Monsma) on January 27, 2024 at the age of 86. Loving wife of Robert Westra, who predeceased her on February 26, 2022.
Dear mother to Jim and Jane Westra, Joanne and Clarence Leistra, Andy Westra and Henny Westra. Proud Beppe to Celeste, Lauren, Jenna, Step- Beppe to Kelly and Jenny, and Great-Grand Beppe to seven great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Anna Jelsma and Biensa Monsma. Born in Friesland (the Netherlands), daughter of the late Johanna and Oege Monsma.
The family immigrated to Ontario on May 20th of 1968 where they raised their children. Tina had a passion for gardening and flower arranging and a real flair for design and decorating. She was a long-standing volunteer at the Chatham Outreach for Hunger, an avid bird watcher, and a loving pet-sitter for her children’s many pets over the years. She will be forever remembered for her wonderful smile, the beautiful home she tended with such care, and her generous and helpful spirit. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will take place on Thursday February 1st, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Donations made in memory of Tina to the Outreach for Hunger would be appreciated by the family.
