Obituary of Bob Reid

A longtime resident of Valetta, Bob Reid peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Hudson Manor Retirement Residence at the age of 98. 

He was the son of the late William & Ethel (nee Smith) Reid. 

Bob will be lovingly reunited with his late wife, Shirley (nee Gardiner, 2011), his late son Kim Reid (2014) and daughter, Jill Nussey (2023). 

Father-in-law of Jim Nussey and Lucille Reid. 

Remembered always by his grandchildren, Jhislaine Nussey-Loosemore (Morgan), Jannah Nussey (Brent), Robbie Nussey-Lemire (Phil), Derek Myers (Amy) & Crystal Fayed (Fady). 

Great-grandfather of Gage, Lycan, Brooklyn, Olivia, Stella, Reid, Clark, Crosby, Brander, Nash, Yvan, Yasmina, & Zayna

Brother of Iris Sebben (Wes), Marg Eastman (Eric), & Mavis Bunning (Mac).

Missed by many nieces & nephews and many friends.

Bob was a lifetime farmer in Valetta. He was a member of the Mocha Shriners, the Eastern Star, & Naphtali Lodge. Bob loved to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, visits with his friends and family and ensuring everyone was fed. He retired as a Clerk Of Session for over 20 years with Valetta Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder for over 50 years. He enjoyed cutting his grass and tending to his garden. His stories and conversations will be dearly missed by his family and his friends. 

Friends to be received on Sunday, February 4, 2023 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at the Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. 

In memory of Bob, donations may be made to the Valetta Presbyterian Church or to the Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue.
