Kaloyanis: Sophie (née Tallis) -
A resident of Chatham, Sophie Kaloyanis passed away at Riverview Gardens on February 11, 2024 at the age of 98.
Born in Macedonia in the Town of Statista, Sophie was the daughter of the late Vassil and Hellen (née Solomone) Tallis.
Beloved wife of the late William Kaloyanis (2000).
Dear mother to Peter Kaloyanis (Carmen), mother-in-law to Louise Kaloyanis and Lily Kaloyanis. Pre-deceased by her son John (1996), Phil Kaloyanis (2023) . Proud grandmother to Michael, Stephen, Katie and Colleen , Jessie, Suzie, Tiffany, William; great-grandmother to Cody, Sierra, Nico, Ruby, Sophie, and Ellie.
Fondly remembered by Lynda Kaloyanis; Tiara, Shyrell and Dom Meng; Brooke Speake.
Sophie is survived by her sister Helen Letourneau. Predeceased by her brothers Peter and Louie Tallis; and sister Kay.
Sophie worked in the family restaurant, the St. Clair Grill, with her husband and family. She took great pride in the business and finally retired at age 85!
A heartfelt thanks is extended to all the staff at Riverview Gardens 5E for their exceptional care of Sophie.
In keeping with Sophie's wishes, a private service will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Those wishing to make a donation in Sophie's memory are asked to consider donating to the Heart & Stroke Foundation on her behalf.
