Obituary of Raymond Burggraaf
Burggraaf: Raymond Frank -
A resident of Ridgetown, Raymond Burggraaf passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on February 19, 2024 at the age of 66.
Born in Chatham, Raymond was the son of Arie and Jantiene (née Koopman) Burggraaf.
Beloved husband of 44 years to Cheryl Ann (née Tremblay).
Survived by his five children Margaret (Roy) Bray, Erik (Bryanna) Burggraaf, Jonathan (Ashley) Burggraaf, Elizabeth (Daniel) Zwart, Emily (Ryan) Fousert. Raymond was the proud Grandpa of 12 grandchildren.
Josalynn and Jessyka Burggraaf, Lily and Wren Burggraaf, Nathaniel, Josiah, Gilead and Micah Zwart, and Nora, Elena, Hezekiah, and Kyla Fousert.
Survived by his 8 siblings Johanna (Brian) Tremblay, Frank (Sharon) Burggraaf, Brenda (Gregory) Burggraaf, Anthony (Rena) Burggraaf, Arlene (Don) Van Gerven, Sylvia (Ron) Griffore, Arthur Burggraaf, and Bernard Burggraaf.
Raymond loved his family and could have no better gift than having all his children and grandchildren home for a visit. He enjoyed a good spontaneous adventure that took him down obscure side roads and to the occasional fruit stand. His silly humour and playful personality will be part of his legacy. He will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m and on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Living Hope Reformed Church, 159 Gregory Dr. E, Chatham, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service to celebrate Raymond's life at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
If you would like to make a donation in memory of Raymond you may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Schizophrenia Society of Canada.
