Janet Provenza

Obituary of Janet Lee Provenza

It is with great sadness the family of Janet Provenza announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of Velma (nee Beckett) Bond & the late Earl Bond. Daughter-in-law of the late Salvatore & Margherita (Melia) Provenza.

Janet will be remembered always by her husband of 45 years, Luigi Povenza, daughter Melissa (Andrew) & son Silvano.

Loving Grandma of Winifred & Benjamin.

Sister of Bill Bond (Karen), Terry Bond, Steve Bond (Mel), Randy Bond, Don Bond (Charlene) and Nicole Baillargeon (Brady).

Sister-in-law of Jack Provenza (Vincenza), Caterina Eterno (Frank), & Paulo Provenza (Lia).

Predeceased by sister-in-law, Margherita Petralito (Angelo).

Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.

Janet retired after 25 years from the Judy LaMarsh Building as an Old Age Security Claim Processor with the Federal Government. A caregiver at heart, she will be missed for her cooking, and taking care of her family. The oldest of seven children, she took on a motherly role for her younger siblings. Always there whenever you needed something, you could always count on Janet. Her pride and joy was being a grandma to her grandchildren, and took an active role in their care. Seeing them grow kept her going. Janet also enjoyed reading and seeing Broadway shows. Luigi & Janet loved to spend their time traveling to tropical destinations and Europe. She will be forever missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Chatham-Kent Hospice, Mary Beth Cadotte of the VON, Dr. Morand and Dr. Huffman for their care and compassion for Janet.

Family to receive friends on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Private Family Service to take place with cremation to follow.

In memory of Janet, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
