Donaldson: Katrine "Mary" Henrietta (née Gallimore) -
A resident of Wallaceburg, formerly of Chatham Katrine Donaldson passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2024 at the age of 87.
Born in Jamaica , Mary was the daughter of William and Aileen (née Galloway) Gallimore.
Beloved wife of 26 years to Burchell Donaldson.
Forever loved by Son, Robert (Kim Shaw) Piggott of Chatham; Three Daughters, Jennifer (Martel) Grant of London, ON, Margaret (Dennis) Smith of Mississauga, ON, Connie (Kevry) Piggott-Wilson of Chatham, ON; Step-Daughter, Cheryl Donaldson of Toronto, ON; Step-Son, Kevin Donaldson of Toronto, ON.
Beloved Grandmother to nine Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
Survived by her Brother, William "Monty" (Patricia) Gallimore of Brampton, ON , predeceased by her Brother, Winston Gallimore and her Sister, Annie Fairweather of Jamaica. Also survived by Brother-in-Law, Vincent (Beverley) Donaldson of Grimsby ON, and Sisters-in-law Primrose, Sheila and Judy.
Family was always the most important moments for Mary, family events and holidays; spending time in the family kitchen baking and cooking for all of her family. "Jamaican Fruit Cake" & oxtail being her signature dishes loved by all. Basketball season was a family event with her mother watching the "Raptors" on television. Mary loved to sing and dance and a good party. Anytime, any place, you could always catch her singing her favorite church hymns and was a proud member of the Christ Church Anglican Choir.
Everybody that knew Mary, Loved Mary and will be missed by all that knew her.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday April 2nd, 2024 at McKinlay Funeral Homes in Chatham from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Funeral Service to commemorate Mary's life at 11:00 am Wednesday April 3rd, 2024 at Christ Church Anglican in Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Mary to the Christ Church Anglican would be appreciated by the family.
