Obituary of Ralph Ford
FORD: Ralph Owen-
A lifelong resident of Highgate, Ralph Ford passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 89.
Born in Howard Township, Ralph was the son of the late Irvine and Doris (née Walters) Ford.
Beloved husband of 67 years to Mary Lou (née McIntyre).
Loving father to Kim McLachlan (Don), Tracy DeRidder (Darrell) and Karen Falconer (Lance). Predeceased by his infant son Stephen.
Proud Grandpa to Lindsay Watson (late Jeff), Ryan Wilson (Laura), Darcy Falconer (Hanna), Spencer Wilson (Brittany), Aaron DeRidder (Monica), Brandon Falconer (Amber) and Jesse DeRidder (Maria).
Great-Grandpa Ralphie to Kellen Watson, Kendall Watson, Sawyer Wilson, Bryson Falconer, Brooks Wilson and Rowan Falconer.
Dear brother to Marion Garrod (late Eugene) and Doug Ford (Linda).
Brother-in-law to Betty McIntyre (late Neil) and Sheila Eves (Bill).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Ralph and Mary Lou worked and raised a family together on the family farm. Together they instilled a strong work and party ethic in their family ("just one more").
He was a former owner/operator of T and L Stump Choppers in Highgate.
Ralph was a charter member of the Highgate and District Lions Club and a member of numerous masonic lodges and shrine clubs.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. A Masonic Service will be held Sunday at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 11:30am until the Funeral Service at 1:30pm with Rev. Lynne Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Duart Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Ralph to the Shriner's Children Hospital or the Highgate and District Lions Club would be appreciated by the family.
