Obituary of Ted Schweitzer

SCHWEITZER: Ted Julius Robert - It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ted Julius Robert Schweitzer at sunrise, May 3rd, 2024, in his 68th year.

Ted was born September 11th, 1956 and was predeceased by his parents, George Schweitzer (1988) and Juliana (Lucio) Schweitzer (2006).

Beloved husband and best friend of 45 years to Jill (Stroud) Schweitzer, proud and loving father to Jesse (Jocelyn and Morgan) and Hilary (Simon and grandson Oliver).

Cherished brother-in-law to Jan, Debby, Rod, Shireen and Suzanne Stroud. Predeceased by sister-in-law Marcy Stroud, brother-in-law Guye Stroud and parents-in-law Chipman and Shirley Stroud.

Ted will also be remembered by godsons Chipman (Jacqueline and grandson Elliot) Stroud and Matthew (Leslie) Skirving, as well as many close and loved nieces and nephews.

Born and raised on the family farm Ted lived an adventurous, full life being a farmer, trucker, business owner and pilot (ATPL). Ted was involved and affiliated with several organizations, among them Nature Conservancy of Canada, Sydenham Field Naturalists and COPA. Ted was an accomplished, humble, kind and gentle soul who loved family and friends and also found peace with nature and music. Ted loved to spend time at the pond in the cabin he and Jesse built together and at Camp on Manitoulin Island where he and Jill spent countless summers with their Island Family. Ted will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank-you to Dr. Rachel Simmons and Sharon, Lisa - Bayshore, VON and Roxanne (HCC) and CK Hospice.  In keeping with Ted’s wishes a Celebration of Life will be held at Station 11, 78 Erie Street South, Ridgetown on Saturday, AUGUST 3, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00pm.
