SHAW, James Ernest (Jim) 79 years was called to his heavenly home Sunday, May 5, 2024 from London Health Sciences Centre. His family was by his side. Survived by his wife Carol Shaw (Sanger) and children Lisa Shaw-Brown and husband Mike Brown (Blenheim), Ken Shaw and Alicia Bryden (Ridgetown), Ian Shaw and wife Melissa (Princeton) and Julie Shaw and Jay Allely (Shrewsbury). Grandfather to Denver Brown, Bennett Brown, Audrey Stass, Niya Brown, James Stass and Heidi Shaw. Jim was the definition of a dedicated family man.

Jim was born and raised on a dairy farm in Amherstburg, Ontario. He was passionate about agriculture and plant life, which led him to pursue a master's degree. He was an instructor and researcher at Ridgetown College for over 15 years, guiding a multitude of young farmers. During his years in the industry he became highly regarded as an expert in weed science, while simultaneously operating his own farm.

Jim was a devout Catholic who loved singing in the church choir. He was chairman on the parish council, and regularly read at mass. He served as a Catholic school board trustee for multiple terms.

Predeceased by his parents James R. Shaw (1969), and Adeline Shaw (2010). Loving brother of Rosella Shaw (Windsor), Donald J. Shaw and wife Judy (Amherstburg), John V. Shaw and wife Judy (Gravenhurst), Marvin Shaw and wife Betty Stefaniak (Windsor), Ernest Shaw and wife Lise (Sarnia), Edward Shaw and wife Kathy (2016) (Harrow), Mary Shaw (Wheatley), Jean Beneteau and husband Paul (Amherstburg). Brother-in-law to Susan Wiles and husband Gary (Caledon). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim was an extraordinary man, a natural leader with a kind and jovial laugh that could lighten any room. He has served as an inspiration for many and will be dearly missed.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass 11:00am on Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown Ontario. All faiths welcome. Luncheon reception to follow in the parish hall.
