Obituary of Jacques Cartier
With sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Jacques Benoit Cartier on May 21, 2024 surrounded by his family at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
He was born in Chatham to the late Clara (Benoit) and Jacob Cartier on September 14, 1951.
He is survived by his wife Thanh Ha Le-Cartier, his brother Jean Cartier (Karen), and sisters, Carmel Marentette (Clyde) and Jeanne d’Arc Bradley (Dean).
He will be missed by step-daughter, Huyen Le and husband, Gon Vu and her two children, Kelvin & Hanna.
He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and aunts.
Jacques was a dedicated employee of Navistar until retirement. He had a passion for farming on the family farm. Jacques enjoyed fishing, gardening and relaxing in his recliner.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the ICU staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their excellent care during his time there.
The family will remember Jacques privately.
