Obituary of George Meyers
George Henry Meyers passed unexpectedly on May 27, 2024 at the age of 67.
George was born October 27, 1956 in Chatham, Ontario, but spent some of his younger years living in Detroit, Michigan. For the majority of his life, he worked the family farm with his father in Clearville, Ontario.
He is survived and missed by his mother Nancy (née Mandrick), sister Shirley “Linda” (Paul) Mazzola of Occala, Florida, and his children Michelle and George D., both of Windsor, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his father George F. (2015), and brother Philip (1958).
George was reserved in demeanor and generous in nature. With friends, he was a quick-witted and engaging conversationalist. George was a voracious reader with a special fondness for science-fiction and fantasy novels. He loved music, especially classic rock — the louder, the better!
In lieu of flowers, George wished for trees to be planted in his honour. Donations to the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Foundation to plant trees would be welcomed by the family.
