Ure: William Douglas "Bill" -

A resident of R.R. # 3 Ridgetown, Bill Ure passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the age of 77.

Born in Chatham, Bill was the son of the late Glen and Aileen (née Taylor) Ure.

Beloved husband of 46 years to Nancy Ure (née Satey).

Loving father to Peter Bondy (Cheri), Shawn Ure (Marcia) and Charlene Ure-Storey (EJ).

Proud Grandpa to MacKenzie, Korben, Trinity, Blake, Detrick and Aubrie.

Dear brother to Jean Capeling (Will), Sharon Edwards (late Jim) and Glen Ure (late Marg).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and his extended family at Wildwood Park, especially Mike and Wendy.

Bill worked at Chrysler in Windsor and drove truck for many years for many different companies, finishing his trucking career with IFS. He was a 'gentleman farmer' throughout his life. Special thanks goes out to Ed Spence for allowing Bill to be the best gentleman farmer he could be.

Bill was a die-hard Nascar and Indy car fan, going to many races and events throughout his life. He was an avid watcher of Bluejay games.

Bill was a hard worker, but always enjoyed having a good time with buddies and talking about the doin's and the whatnots.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00pm and on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 12:00pm until the Celebration of Life at 1:30pm. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Bill to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue or Dying with Dignity Canada would be appreciated by the family.
