Allen: George Edgar -
A resident of Chatham, George Allen passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on June 9, 2024 at the age of 93.
Born in Windsor, George was the son of the lateWilfred and Edith (née Sefton) Allen and special son of the late Elsie Wilkins (née Sefton).
Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Thirza (née Dix).
Dear father to Craig Allen (Kim), Glynis Glasier (Jay). Proud grandfather to Chandler, Hayden, Carter, Dharma (Garrett) and Macgregor. George will also be dearly missed by his fur babies-Bella, Rue, Nala, Tucker, Harper and Arley.
Brother to Elizabeth Dutot; brother-in-law to Henrietta Fox and Carol Fedikow (late Carl); uncle to Lisa Thompson -Power. Predeceased by his brother Denis Fox.
George will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
George was a retired employee of Union Gas with over 48 years of service. He served the Chatham-Kent Community as Past President of the Chatham Jaycees, Past President of the Chatham Figure Skating Club and Past Secretary Minor Baseball Association.
A special thank-you is extended to the Dr. Dean Matsuzaki as well as Dr. Aimen Naeem and the Nursing staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for the tremendous care and compassion extended to George.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the service to celebrate George's life at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens, Windsor at a later date.
Donations made in memory of George to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
