Jean was born and grew up on the Family Farm in McGillvray Township, which is still in the family to this day. She married Langford in 1946, and they migrated to the Coatsworth/Wheatley area where they raised their children. Eventually they moved to Port Alma, then later settled in Merlin after Langford retired. Jean and Langford enjoyed watching car & horse racing and travelling to various places within Canada & the US. Jean was a dedicated member of the Merlin United Church. She was an active member of the Comet Rebekah Lodge for 75 years and enjoyed spending time at the Merlin Senior Centre. Jean enjoyed quilting, collecting stamps, coins and postcards - her collections were abundant. A favourite pastime of Jean's was clipping newspaper articles and creating scrapbooks with her findings. Studying her family history and genealogy was a passion of hers. In 2009, Langford & Jean moved to the Chatham-Retirement Resort where she was very involved with social activities, playing cards and visits to the Casino. A popular lady, she was named Resident of the Month several times. She will be dearly missed by her family and her optimistic personality will be forever remembered.

A Private Family Service to take place.

In memory of Jean, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
