Hermsen: Joy Andrea (née Wood) -
It is with great sadness that our family must announce that Joy Andrea Hermsen passed away on Saturday July 27, 2024 in her 70th year. She passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Chatham Kent Health Alliance.
Loving wife to Henry for 50 years.
Cherished Mother to her 3 children Tracey (Chris), John (Stephanie) and Paul (Jana).
Beloved Grandmother to 7 grandchildren Austin, Ethan, Liam, Katie, Nicole, Emily, Timothy and Matthew (predeceased).
Joy will be missed by aunts, uncles and many cousins.
She enjoyed scrap booking and perusing craft shows; Joy loved going to local retirement homes and nursing homes when she could to volunteer her skills and talents with the residents and most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, either at home or at the many sporting events they were involved in throughout the years.
Visitation will take place Thursday August 1, 2024 at McKinlay Funeral Home , 76 Main St. E. in Ridgetown from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will continue on Friday August 2, 2024 at the Funeral Home from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am.
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Joy can be made on her behalf to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
