Obituary of Wilfred Wilson

A lifelong resident of Chatham, Wilfred "Wilkie" Wilson passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with his children by his side. 

He was the son of the late James Cowan & Edith Pearl (nee Field) Wilson and brother of the late James Arthur.

Wilkie will lovingly be reunited with his late wife, Shirley Ann Wilson (nee Mitchell) & the late Margaret Wilson (nee Getty). 

Forever remembered by his children, Dean Wilson & Karri-Lynn Wilson and by Margaret's daughter, Judy Switzer (Andrew).

Proud grandpa of Lucas (Hillaire), Lexy & Adam.

Missed by his niece, Lisa Wilson & nephews, Jim & Robert Wilson. 

Wilkie went to CVS Highschool, worked at the family grocery store "Wilsons", Dominion Grocery Store & Todgham & Case as a road surveyor. 

He retired from Siemens Corporation, formerly FRAM, in 1996 after 30 years of Service as a Lead Hand. 

In 1964, Shirley & Wilkie started their family, enjoyed spending time traveling on the motorcycle  and hosting family events. 

In retirement, Wilkie & Margaret enjoyed continuing traveling all over Ontario, visiting family members, and attending various Plays. 

Family to receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Cremation to follow with a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date. 

In memory of Wilkie, donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
