June 12th, 1953 - July 24th, 2024
SLATFORD: Linda Marie (née Anderson) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Linda on July 24th, 2024 in Chatham, Ontario, surrounded by loved ones.
Predeceased by her father Charles “Keith” Anderson (2010) and her mother Anna Marie Anderson (née Whitehead) (2022) of R.R.#3 Oil Springs. Loving mother of Keith (Amanda) Slatford; stepmother to Krista Campbell (née Slatford) and Craig Slatford. Proud grandmother of Fiona and Quinn Slatford. Step-grandmother to Ella and Taylor Campbell. Adoptive grandmother to Brynna (Danni) Slatford (Labadie). Survived by her brother Ross Anderson (Cynthia) , nephews David (Patrick), Jose (Kleanthi) and her niece Hillary (Calder). Predeceased by sister-in-law Barbara (Paul) Luoto (née Slatford) (2018).
Linda grew up on her parents’ farm in Oil Springs, Ontario before starting her career as a Registered Nurse in 1973. Linda spent time as a community nurse between St-Thomas and Windsor before relocating to Chatham to raise her family and retire. Linda loved to travel and collect beach glass, make adorable night dresses for her grandchildren, and passionately loved those in her life.
The family would like to express its sincerest gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Chatham Kent Hospice, as well as Mum’s Care Partners team. Your support and care for Mum always left a smile on her face, and in our hearts.
A private family service will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home Chatham along with a private interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery
Memorial donations to honour Linda's life can be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice and would be appreciated by the family.
