Obituary of Patrick Langan

Langan: Patrick Thomas -

A resident of Pain Court, Patrick Langan passed away suddenly at the Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus on August 19, 2024 at the age of 75.

Born in Windsor, Patrick was the son of the late Francis and Annette (née Jeffrey) Langan.

Loving husband and high school sweetheart of 54 years to Dianne (née Goodburn ).

Cherished father of Sheree Fitzpatrick (Mark), Lisa Santandrea (Mark) and Ryan Langan (Sarah).

Proud Papa to Olivia, Hunter (predeceased), Grady, Jace, Mason, Maddy, Liam and Wyatt. He will forever be remembered for teaching his grandchildren respect, responsibility and "how to do stuff". He was the centre of the "little big Papa stories'.

Dear brother to Mary Ellen Deuville (late Gary), Anne Marie Smithson (Mike) and Michael Langan.

Brother-in-law to Debra Quenneville (Andre), Darryl Goodburn and the late Dennis Goodburn (Deb).

Predeceased by his brother John Langan (Dorothy). Patrick is also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Bill and Betty Goodburn.

Uncle Pat will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Patrick was always helping others first. He was a former employee of Union Gas and retired as President of Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline. He also had a passion for farming which carried on into his retirement years.

Patrick had many interests and hobbies. He collected and restored antique cars, trucks and tractors. His first love being his silver GTO. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and snowmobiling. His winter happy places were Florida and Mexico. He also traveled the world, especially to his ancestral home of Ireland.

A special thank-you is extended to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Windsor-Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus staff for the tremendous care and compassion given to Patrick and the family.

Family and friends are invited to McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the Memorial Service to celebrate Patrick's life at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House and would be appreciated by the family.
