Dunkley: Sheila Ellen
A resident of Chatham, Sheila Dunkley passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at the age of 78.
Born in Chatham and living most of her life in Ridgetown, Sheila was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (née Overfield) Dunkley.
Beloved sister to William Dunkley (Theresa) and James Dunkley (Irene).
She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Sheila graduated from RNA training at Beck Memorial Hospital in 1967 and after 19 years, she graduated from the Registered Nurse training at St Clair College in 1986. Sheila was a member of the Chatham Corps of the Salvation Army and was also a member of the Mocca Chapter #58 O.E.S. Ridgetown. During this time in the Eastern Star, Sheila served as Worthy Matron several times, also serving as District Deputy Grand Matron.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service to celebrate Sheila's life at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
Donations made in memory of Sheila to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
