ANDERSON, GLENDA MARIE (TAYLOR)

1942-2024

A resident of Kent Bridge, Glenda Marie Anderson, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Monday, August 26, 2024 with her family by her side.

Glenda was the beloved wife of Larry Anderson. Together, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on August 17, 2024. Glenda was the loving mother of Robert Anderson (Kathleen), Gregory Anderson (Colleen) and Glenn Anderson (Janice). Glenda was an extremely proud, devoted, and involved grandmother to Daniele Anderson Gilbert (Tyler), Darci Anderson Saunders (Jonny), Rachel Anderson, Jillian Anderson, Morgan Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Mackenzie Anderson and Meredith Anderson.

Glenda was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Louise Taylor. She was a dear sister to Donna Blight (Bill) and a special aunt to Wesley Blight (Kristen).

At the young age of 17, Glenda began teaching at the Chatham Vocational School. She later taught at Dresden High School and Ridgetown College. After more than 20 years of teaching, Glenda retired from education to help farm with Larry on Botany Line.

Glenda loved her winters in Florida, especially when friends and family visited. She equally loved her summers at Cathcart Park where she taught each of her grandchildren to fish and where she and Larry spent much time watching the big boats go by. Glenda also had a deep love for her Golden Retrievers, most recently her companion, Duke. One of Glenda’s favourite trips was to Africa that she took with Larry. Glenda’s famous brownies will be missed by each one of her grandchildren on their birthdays.

A private ceremony has taken place. Donations may be made in memory of Glenda to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
