Obituary of Donna Marie Smith
SMITH: Donna Marie (née Allen) -
A resident of Shrewsbury, Donna Smith passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the age of 77.
Born in Chatham, Donna was the daughter of the late Donald Allen and Mary (née Smith).
Beloved wife of 59 years to Allen Smith.
Loving mother of Robin Smith (Sandy), Rodney Smith, Laurel Echlin (Jim Sinclair) and Holly Clements (Jeff Shoemaker).
Proud Grandma/Mamaw to 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Sister-in-law to Rodney Smith (Alice).
Also missed by friends and extended family.
Donna worked as a realtor in the Blenheim area, before beginning her career in nursing. At age 55 she became a Registered Practical Nurse, working at the Blenheim Community Village until her retirement.
Donna enjoyed making crafts and was a talented seamstress, making her own wedding outfit. She taught tole painting and enjoyed wood carving. Donna loved animals and would often take in animals in need.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm.
Donations made in memory of Donna to the Canadian Cancer Society or a local animal rescue would be appreciated by the family.
