Obituary of Al Duddy

Duddy: Alva Blake "Al" -

A resident of Chatham, Al Duddy passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 4, 2024 in his 100th year.

Born in Chatham Township, Al was the son of the late William and Alma (née Webster) Duddy.

Beloved husband of 68 years Eileen Duddy (née Muckle).

Loving father of David Duddy (Janet) of Comox, B.C., Susan Roberton of Chatham and Lisa Wigle (Scott) of Delaware. Proud grandfather of Adam Duddy (Kalie), Noah Duddy; Spencer Roberton, Jack Roberton; Jennifer Hentz (Andrew), Megan Tufts (Pat) and Stefanie Wigle. Proud great-grandfather of Emmerich, Hannah and Lukas Hentz.

Predeceased by his sister Esther Cumming (late Gerald).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Al was a successful merchant on King Street, beginning his career at Boyes and Herd, launching the Pant Shack and ending as co-owner of Peter Pam Shops with his wife Eileen.

An excellent golfer, who enjoyed endless rounds with family, friends in the Chatham Kent-area and at their retirement home in Avon Park, Florida.

As per Al's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Al to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
