Obituary of Mary Theresa Rankin
Rankin: Mary Theresa -
A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Mitchell's Bay, Mary Rankin passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the age of 65.
Born in Wallaceburg, Mary was the daughter of the late Lyle and Theresa (née Leveille) Rankin.
Loving mother of Heather Kumpess (Jay), Heidi Nead (Jacob) and Wendy Smith.
Proud Grannie to Joan, Jordan, Bryce, Brayden, Katelynn, Tysen, Gracie, Crystal, Ava, Dakota and Enya. Great-Grannie to Amaya and Neveah. Honourary Grannie to many.
Mary will be missed by her three fur babies, Willy, Lucy and Lil Bean.
Special cousin and sister to Kathy Leveille. Predeceased by her best friends Gail Grant and Brent Dymerski.
Also missed by many friends and extended family.
Mary worked for many years at Chatham Consumer Survivor Network as an office manager and peer worker.
Mary will be remembered for the love she had for her family and pets.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Cremation to follow.
Donations made in memory of Mary to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
