Lawrence: Sarah 'Yvonne' (Rice) -
A resident of Chatham, Yvonne Lawrence passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 92.
Born in Massie, Yvonne was the daughter of the late George and Jessie (Root) Rice.
Reunited with loving husband Jack.
Caring mother to Andy (Kim) Lawrence, Karla (Gary) Bobolia, Dean Lawrence.
Sister to Brian (Norma) Rice, Jack (Isabel) Rice.
Predeceased by siblings Gilbert Rice, Lois Johnson, Ted Rice, Shirley and sister-in-law Evelyn and brother-in-law Mervyn.
Proud grandmother to Taunia (Chris), Sara (Patrick) and Chris.
Adored great-grandmother of 12.
Will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, many friends especially the fab four and best friend Loraine Shaw .
Yvonne was a passionate teacher and loved all the kids she taught over the year. she was an avid coffee lover which she loved to enjoy with the fab four and keep up on the town news.Yvonne and Jack could always been found traveling with their most memorable trip being Portugal and summers were spent with family at the Summer place.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Cody from VON, E shift for their compassionate care towards Yvonne during her final days.
Family and friends are invited to McKinlay Funeral Home at 459 St. Clair St, Chatham on October 9, 2024. There will be a visitation from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on October 10, 2024 at 11:00am followed by an interment at Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
