BEDARD: Paul Edward - Very peacefully surrounded by love and support we said God Speed to Paul Edward Bedard on October 16, 2024 having just reached his 85th birthday. Loving son of deceased parents Ed and Grace Bedard. Best partner, husband, soulmate of Jan Bedard with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage. Kind, generous and loving father of Michelle Bulger (Jay), Marisa Klein (Brad), and Marianne Lidster (Shawn). Treasured Grandpa to Owen and Emily Bulger, Evan and Megan Klein, and Rachel and Olivia Lidster. Dear brother of Lynda Ducharme (David) and special uncle to Lisa, Heather, Matthew, Jeff and Tricia.
Paul was born and raised in Chatham-Kent. He was an active parishioner in his church. He was a retired teacher and principal for the St Clair Catholic District School Board for over 30 years. He taught more than lessons in a book. Thank you for teaching us how to love, to be kind, to help others, to have faith and to find the blessings in life’s challenges. Paul was a dedicated family man who had an unwavering love for his family and friends. He was Mr. Fix It. Electronics and this new age of technology wowed him. Golf, playing cards, listening to birds, all the simple pleasures of living brought him joy but none more than his grandchildren. Paul will be forever missed by his friends and family. He truly was one of a kind. A gentle, encouraging, friendly and wonderful human being.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula's Parish, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave W., Chatham at 11:00am on Monday, October 21, 2024. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Paul to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated
