Obituary of Yvonne Richie
Richie: Josephine “Yvonne” (Couture) -
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Yvonne Richie who has been reunited with her loving husband Jerry Richie (2005) on October 23, 2024 at the age of 86.
Yvonne was the daughter of the late Francis and Melda Couture.
She was the youngest of seven children, predeceased by her brother Ovila, sisters Marion, Cecile, Adele, Leona, their spouses and surviving sister Marie Jeanne Couture.
Loving mother of Brenda (Wayne) Faubert, the late Deborah (Roger) Simpson, Wayne (Suzanne) Richie and Colleen (Grant) Sloan.
Cherished grandmother of Ryan, Kelly, Randy, Shawn, Scott, Eric, Amanda, Karli, Autumn, the late Marisa (2023) step grandchildren Monica and Chad, and thirteen great grandchildren.
We will be forever grateful to all the staff at Village on the Thames who took great care of Mom her last four years. All of you were special to her.
A very special thank you to Sister Theresa Campeau for her prayers, kindness and support also to Christine Romansky her friend, and “adopted” daughter, (as we called her). Thank you for your never ending kindness, friendship and the love you have given to mom.
The family would like to thank the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on the stroke, rehab and the palliative care units for their compassionate care. Lastly we will be forever grateful to the Chatham-Kent Hospice for making mom’s final journey peaceful before she was reunited with God and the love of her life Jerry.
Family to receive friends on Sunday October 27, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00am on Monday, October 28, 2024. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation in memory of Yvonne would be greatly appreciated by the family.
