Obituary of Ruth Agatha Gray

Gray: Ruth Agatha (née Robert) - A resident of Ridgetown, passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Born February 15, 1936, Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Althea (Cadotte) Robert.

Wife of the late Earl W. J. Gray (2012) for 57 years.

Survived by two daughters, Brenda Russelo of Chatham and Patricia Lynn Gray (Hardie) of Alberta and predeceased by one son, the late Earl W. Gray, Jr. (1979). Predeceased by son-in-law Robert Hardie (2011) and two infant grandchildren Felicia Hardie (1994) and Brent Gordon (1978).

Survived by six grandchildren, Tammy Chouinard, Nicole Weber (Alex), Joel Sheldon, Megan Brekelemans, Gerrid Hardie and Fallon Hardie.

Great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren.

Sister to the late Eileen Thibault (Joe), Mildred Sterling (late Roland), the late June Cartier (late Ovila), Noreen Hunter (Ed), Melvin Robert (Carol) and the late Bert Robert (late Patricia).

Sister-in-law to Fern Gray (late Carl).

Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ruth, with her husband Earl, as partners owned a welding and fabricating business for 20 years. Ruth was Secretary Treasurer for the duration of the business.

She drove for CHAP for several years. She was also a crossing guard for the school children for 15 years. She really loved the children and cared about their safety. She was an active member of the Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre. She was a card coordinator for approximately 10 years. In 2014, she received the Achievement Award.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00am on Friday, November 1, 2024. Interment to follow at Gosnell Cemetery. Following the Interment the family invites everyone back to St. Michaels Catholic Church Parish Hall located at 26 George Street, Ridgetown for a luncheon.

Donations made in memory of Ruth to the Make a Wish Foundation and Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
