VIEW FUNERAL SERVICE LIVESTREAM

Plaquet: Louise Leonie (née D'Hulster) -

A resident of Chatham, Louise Plaquet passed away at the Riverview Gardens on November 29, 2024 at the age of 87.

Born in Chatham, Louise was the daughter of the late Alois and Bertha (née VanDaele) D'Hulster.

Beloved wife of the late Roger Plaquet (2020) for 63 years.

Loving mother of Janine Gordon (Sonny), Brian Plaquet (Dawn Marie), Denise Plaquet (Ken Bovin) and Wayne Plaquet (Christine).

Cherished grandmother of Brandon Martin (Tamara), Michael Plaquet (Christy), Ashley Broadwood (Brandyn), Rachael Plaquet (Dillon), Nicholas Plaquet (Rachael) and Cadence Plaquet.

Great grandmother of Grayson Broadwood, William Martin, Finley Broadwood and Nathan Martin

Predeceased by her sisters Cecile Louagie (Hilaire), Alice Verfaillie (Andrew) and Tina Van Gerven (Peter).

Missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Louise loved to travel with Roger to find her favourite glass shoe or hat. Louise's love for polka music found them following bands to attend dances and listening to their favourite polka tune.  They also spent many hours relaxing in their home taking pleasure in the sound of accordian musicians from all over the world.  Mom also loved her flower gardens.

Mom was proud to be a member of the Women's Institute of Canada and the Catholic Women's League for many years.

Louise was a kind soul, gentle and understanding.  She was caring, supportive and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  She always had a listening ear.

Grandma or meme as the grandchildren would call her, could rely on her to never miss a dance recital, skating lesson, a sporting event or graduation ceremony.  She was always there for her family.

Most of all, she was proud of her family and never had a bad word to stay about anyone.

The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff of Riverview Gardens for their devoted care and compassion for Louise.
