CAMPBELL: Helen Eileen (née Reid) -

A resident of Elmira, and formerly of Chatham, Helen Campbell passed away peacefully at the Barnswallow Place Community on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the age of 88.

Born in Chatham, Helen was the daughter of the late Clayton and Vera (née Bond) Reid.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Campbell (2003).

Loving mother of Kathryn and Bruce Cowper of Moorefield, Douglas and Sandra Campbell of Chatham and Frederick Campbell and Leo Lacroix of Ottawa.

Beloved Nana of Reid (Rebecca), Kale, Davin (Ruby) and Tate (Kiri) Cowper and Holly (Ben) and Joshua (Katie) Campbell. Great-Grandmother to Axel and Nixon Campbell

Sister to the late Donna and Ivan Arnold/ Charlie Mills.

Sister-in-law to the late James and Donna Campbell, Duncan and Ruth Campbell, and Jane and Len Jones.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Helen was a wonderful mother, nana and grandmother setting a standard and insight ahead of her time.

She was an outstanding athlete from an early age capturing city and district track and basketball championships throughout high school. She maintained tournament champion stature in badminton and tennis throughout her adult life. Curling and lawn bowling were her challenges later in life where she skipped many teams around Ontario.

Helen enjoyed socializing with friends on and off the sports arenas, and dance floors. She enjoyed many trips and celebrations with friends over the years. Helen was very hospitable and enjoyed playing games and cards with friends and family of all ages.

A Private Family Service will be held with an interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery, Louisville.

Donations made in memory of Helen to Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) or a local food bank would be appreciated by the family.
