Obituary of Maryke James
James: Rykje Maria Johanna "Maryke" (née Antuma) -
A former resident of Wallaceburg, Maryke James passed away at the St. Joseph's Hospice on December 3, 2024 at the age of 94.
Born in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, Maryke was the daughter of the late George and Grace (née de Haas) Antuma.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband Francis James. Beloved mother of Yvonne Noordam (Walter), George James (late Harlene), Allan James (Teresa), Norma Leegstra (Melvin), and the late Kevin James. Beloved sister of the late Simon Antuma (late Wilma), the late Jean Coolen (late Jeff), Driek Frak (late Louis), Peter Antuma (late Inkse), Fred Antuma (LeeAnn), the late George Antuma (Jean), the late Marty Koke (late Keith) and Els Vanschubert (Al). Sister-in-law of the late Blanche James and the late Margaret James.
She will be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren whom she loved deeply along with loving her siblings and children. She had a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ and Living Hope Church in Chatham.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Maryke's life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Living Hope Free Reformed Church, 159 Gregory Dr. E, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Memorial donations made in memory of Maryke to Wallaceburg Christian School or St Joseph Hospice in Sarnia would be appreciated by the family.
