Duquette: Clara Natalie (née Verfaillie) -
A resident of Chatham, Clara Duquette passed away at the Meadow Park Nursing Home on December 15, 2024 at the age of 99.
Born in Roselaire,Belgium Clara was the daughter of the late Leopold and Fharaildis (née Windels) Verfaillie.
Beloved wife of the late Harvey Duquette (2005).
Loving mother of Mary Ann and husband Roland Vardon, Orangeville; Charlane and husband Lonnie Horn, Chatham and Larry Duquette and wife Karan, Chatham. Grandmother of Heather, Laura, Paul; Amber, April, Alicia; Brooke and Cara and great-grandmother of 9 and great great grandmother to 7.
Dear sister to the late Mary Benoit.
Clara will be forever remembered by her family and friends for love of sewing, knitting, dancing and spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping at Erieau with her husband and family. Clara was a recipient of a 50 year pin from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28, Chatham.
Private family arrangements will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Clara to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
