LUCIER: Louis Roland-

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Lou Lucier of Kingsville, Ontario, at the age of 80, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, after a brief illness.

Lou was born in Chatham on May 5, 1944, son of the late Bertram and the late Cecile (née Couture) Lucier. Cherished partner to Lucille Boucher for 15 years, and beloved husband of the late Evalyn (née Grainger) Lucier (2007). Loving father to Lori-Anne Lucier (Devin Pearson) of Chatham, Ken Lucier of Chatham, treasured step-father to Dan Boucher (Kim) of Stoney Pointe, Rachel Boucher of Kingsville, Rene Boucher of Windsor and Melanie MacLean (Steven) of Comber, Jodi Burke of Mexico and Stacey (Christine) Burke of Chatham. Proud Papa and Grandpa of Page Mayrand (Keith Heuston), Emma-Tyme Mayrand (Tiz Clive) and the late Coltyn Mayrand (2012), Ryan Boucher and Sierra Boucher, Alexis Yaroch, Cameron Yaroch and Brianna Yaroch, Chase MacLean, Ava MacLean and Katie MacLean, Dylan (Jess) Burke-Gray and Kesley (James) Burke-Gray, Lachlan Burke, Aiden Burke and Leah Burke. Proud Great-Papa to Hazel Heuston and the late Magnolia Heuston (2021). Dear Brother to Annette (late Reg) Robertson, the late Hector (Vickie) Lucier and Nancy (late Martin) Vandergulik and brother-in-law to Wayne (late Dianne) Grainger, Warren and Pat Grainger and Diane and Ron Ambrose. Lou will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and extended family.

Lou was a hard-worker from a young age who retired as a successful entrepreneur, with prosperous business ventures in both Kent and Essex counties. Lou made many fond memories with friends who became family in Naples, Florida, especially after retirement. There was nothing Lou loved more than being outside, whether it was for his daily walks, a sunny day at the beach or a toboggan-off in the snow, with the people he loved. Lou shared extraordinary care, understanding, support and profound love in his relationships and with family. He was devoted to supporting his grandkids’ sports and events and was always proud to be their number one fan. Whether you were related, extended family or friends, Lou always considered you as family. Lou will be lovingly remembered as a kind, compassionate and generous Partner, Husband, Father, Step-father, Brother, Papa, Grandpa, Great-Papa, Uncle, Cousin and Friend who impacted the lives of many. He will be dearly missed.
