Obituary of Marcel Van Der Aa
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Marcel Van Der Aa on January 5th, 2025 at Victoria Hospital, London, with his family by his side, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Belgium 85 years ago, Marcel was the son of the late John and Jose Van Der Aa.
Beloved husband of Cheryl (Gosnell) Van Der Aa for 34 years.
Cherished father of Susan (Ed) Brown and Kimberley (Bill) Clarkson.
Loving Grandpa to Corey (Layla) Warden and Benjamin Warden.
Marcel is predeceased by his brother Robert and in-laws Ted and Donna Gosnell.
After arriving in Canada at the age of 12 1/2, Marcel worked at various jobs. His last was with London Transit, where he was a Bus Driver for 26 1/2 years. Once retired, Marcel spent his summers at their trailer on Rice Lake, where he enjoyed lots of boating, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Respecting Marcel's wishes, Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate, at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Marcel to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
