Obituary of Rev. Lane Douglas

DOUGLAS, Rev. Lane, Thursday, January 9, 2025. Loving son of the late Harvey and Edith Douglas. Dear brother of the late Leslie and his wife Ethel Douglas. Born May 17, 1931, Head of Hillsborough, Prince Edward Island. Lane was educated in the Maritimes, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University, Sackville, N.B. and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Pine Hill Divinity Hall, Halifax, N.S. In 1964 he was ordained to Christian ministry within the United Church of Canada. He served four years in the Maritimes and then moved to Southwestern Ontario where he served United Church Pastoral Charges until 1992. In that year he transferred to the Presbyterian Church in Canada and served within that church until his retirement in 1997.

Friends and family will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Victoria Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle, at 2:30 p.m.
