Obituary of El Northcott

Northcott, Eldred Ross -

With his loving family by his side, El passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 85. El will be deeply missed by his loving spouse Bonnie Baker. He is reunited with his beloved wife Nancy (Van Damme) (2004). El was a devoted father to Cynthia (Don) Lanoue, Michelle (Kevin) Bowman, Laura Baker (Marcus Gasparotto) and Jill Northcott (Ian Kelly). Proud Grandpa of Kyle and Gavin Lanoue, Madison and Bryan Bowman, Grace and Charley Baker, Stella, Daphne and Jane Northcott. He will also be remembered by Bonnie’s children, Terry, Michael, Randy and Darren Wright and their families.

Born on April 3, 1939 to the late Ethridge and Lela (Clapp) Northcott. Lovingly remembered by his sisters Doris Anderson and Kay (Allan) Pickard. Predeceased by siblings Lyle Northcott, Gladys Graham, Shirley Anderson, Ivan Northcott, Allen Northcott and Melba Merilees.

El was a millwright by trade, but a true jack-of-all trades. When he wasn’t busy fixing something around the house, repairing a vehicle or working in the yard, you could find him puttering around in the garage. He enjoyed sharing his expertise with friends, family and neighbours and never came across a problem he couldn’t solve. More than anything, he valued his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, and was fulfilled by their happiness and success.

Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, January 19 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 20 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
