Obituary of Aileen Wilson Mitton

Wilson Mitton: F. Aileen (nee Morgan) - October 2, 1925-January 30, 2022

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3

In her 97th year, and surrounded by the love of her family, Aileen has moved into her new mansion in Heaven, and I can only imagine the tasks assigned to her.. Party planner…meal prep…master gardener.

Aileen was born to Lloyd and Florence Morgan. She was the eldest of six children. The family lived on the Morgan farm north of Thamesville. When she was in her teens, they moved to the Turin Community where she met her husband Robert Wilson and married in 1948. For over 50 years, they enjoyed farm life and raised their family.

Our family grew to appreciate the beauty of nature around us. Mother enjoyed the woods, especially with leaves turning in the fall; she has been known to chase sunsets and rainbows. For over 60 years, Mom's green thumb produced a beautiful display for all to see, resulting in her being a Communities in Bloom award winner.

Our lives were full as we attended Turin United Church, being a part of services. Mother was dedicated to serving and sharing Christian principals through UCW leadership and the Sunday School programs. She was happy Beth had the gift of music and played the organ for over 40 years.

Loving mother to Dawne and Mervyn Erb, Ross and Beth Gladstone, Norma (2019) and Kevin Cooper, Joyce and Gary Crackel, Daryl Wilson, Catherine and Don Scott, Ross Wilson, Noreen Van Waes and special friend Roger Bastien (and the late Richard, 2005).

Proud Grandma to Brent Erb (Bernadette), Leanne Gemmel (Jeff), Darren Erb (Shannon); Graham Gladstone (Julie), Elissa Charron (David), Jordan Gladstone (Erin); Timothy Cooper (Julie), Joy Snyder (Mike), Angela Benford (Matt); Stephen Crackel, Kyle Crackel (Breana); Katie Wilson, Patti Wilson, Evalyn Wilson; Angela Van Waes (Edgar), Heather Van Waes (David) and Chris Van Waes (Rachel).

Loving Great-Grandma to 21 great-grandchildren: Levi Erb, Owen and Abby Gemmel, Brennan Erb, Ben and Anna Gladstone, Hudson and Maeve Charron, Rosalie and Aubrie Gladstone; Cash, Ilya, Rumi, Bodhi Cooper, Elijah and Noah Snyder, Emerson And Kenzie Benford; Maebella Crackel and Danica Crackel, Baby Rivadeneyra soon to be arriving.

After Robert passed in 1999, Aileen and Lloyd Mitton (2018) began many years of companionship, marrying in 2005.

Through the years, Aileen appreciated visits with Lloyd's children Robert Mitton (2021) (Mimi) and Donald Mitton (Judith).

Dear sister to Norman Morgan (Gertie), Lillian Morgan (1934), Burton Morgan (Marion), Blanche Rundle (late Hugh) and Marilyn Miller (Earl).
